PURPOSE: To obtain a new sulfuric acid ester having action stimulating a β- adrenergic receptor or action inhibiting a platelet aggregation activation factor and useful as a medicine.

CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (R1 is OH or 1-6C alkyl; R2 is 1-8C hydrocarbon group) or pharmacologically permissible salt thereof, e.g. a pyridine salt of 6-benzyloxy-2-methylheptane-5-sulfate. The compound is obtained by converting a hydroxyl group of an unsaturated alcohol of formula II to an alkoxyl group, hydroboronating the double bond, successively oxidizing the compound to give a compound of formula III and reacting the compound of formula III with sulfone trioxide to carry out sulfuric acid esterification thereof.
