Abstract:
To provide a new terpenol compound having tyrosinase-inhibiting activity and useful as a bleaching agent, and to provide a bleaching agent containing the compound.
The new terpenol compound represented by formula (1) is discovered from a culture extract (hexane extract) of microorganisms belonging to the genus Bacillus. It is also discovered that the compound has the tyrosinase activity-inhibiting effects. The new terpenol is useful as the new tyrosinase activity inhibitor, and as the bleaching agent containing the terpenol.
