To obtain a new virus causing epidemic vomition and diarrhea of a dog, its gene fragment and a prophylactic for the vomition and diarrhea of the dog by using the gene fragment.
This virus causing epidemic vomition and diarrhea of a dog, its reverse transcribed DNA and a prophylactic for the epidemic vomition and diarrhea of the dog by using the reverse transcribed DNA as an active ingredient have following characteristics: (1) the virus has no envelope; (2) the virus is a small spherical RNA virus having about 30nm diameter; and (3) a product having about 1,000bp length is obtained when RT-RCR is performed by using primers of 5'-CACTATGATGCAGATTA-3' and 5'-ATCTCATCATCACCATA-3'. The virus or the DNA is useful for production of a prophylactic for the epidemic vomition and diarrhea of the dog.
