Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide newsprint paper whose optical properties, for example, opacity or the like can efficiently be improved by addition of a small amount of filer and whose paper strength can be retained as a result.
SOLUTION: In the paper for news paper including hydrated silicic acid, its ash content is 1-7 wt.% based on the whole weight of the paper, the ash particles have a diameter D of 5-15 μm on the average and more than 48% of ash particles in the range within 0.5D to 1.5D.
