To obtain a novel useful NF-κB activation inhibitor and a composition which is useful for ameliorating various disease symptoms such as inflammation and preventing or improving symptoms associated with physiological aging or photoaging of the skin.
The NF-κB (nuclear factor Kappa B) activation inhibitor contains at least one plant extract selected from the group consisting of Compositae spp., flax seed, Epimedium grandiflorum Morr., Pyrola japonica Klenze, Ginkgo biloba L., Curcuma longa L., Althaea officinalis L., Acanthopanax senticosus Harms, Astragalus membranaceus Bge., Phellodendri Cortex, Polygalae Radix, Sophorae Fros, Diospyros kaki L., Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb., Puerariae Radix, Paullinia cupana H., B. et. K. or the like. The composition contains the NF-κB activation inhibitor. The NF-κB activation inhibitor can be applied to various formulations such as an external preparation composition, a pharmaceutical composition, a quasi-drug composition and food and drink, and is effective for preventing or improving various diseases accompanied by inflammation, hypofunction and various symptoms associated with physiological aging or photoaging of the skin, e.g. pigmentation, wrinkles, sagging.
