Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a small DC motor by providing slide contact materials whose alloy composition do not contain a hazardous substrate such as Cd, excellent in contact resistance properties and free of variation with time, having wear resistance practically equivalent to conventional slide contact materials, and by using the slide contact materials having excellent durability for the commutator of the motor.
SOLUTION: The Ag-Ni alloy slide contact materials are used for a slide part for carrying out electrical opening/closing by a mechanical slide motion. A uniformly dispersed mixture is formed by mixing and stirring Ni powder of 0.7-3.0 wt.%, Li2CO3 powder serving as an additive, which is equivalent to Li of 0.01-0.50 wt.% when converted to metal, and Ag powder. The above mixture undergoes forming and sintering so as to enable the obtainment of the Ni metal grain dispersion type Ag-Ni alloy slide contact materials.
