PURPOSE: To provide an Ni-Al alloy for timepiece materials of improved color tone, hardness, corrosion resistance, workability, etc. by increasing the content of Ni of the Ni-Al alloy up to a specific range.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy for timepiece materials consisting of 64W88wt% Ni and the balance Al. If the content of Ni is ≤65% with this alloy, there is possiblity that the material embrittles and the alloy assumes a gray color. If said content exceeds 88%, the yellowish color of the material decreases and at ≤70°C, the material has ferromagnetism. Therefore, in the 65W88% range of the content of Ni, the alloy has better properties than 18-8 stainless steel or the like in hardness, corrosion resistance, magnetism workability, etc., and the Ni-Al alloy suitable for the cases, bands, etc. of timepieces is obtained.
