Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging measures of a nickel-hydrogen battery, by which float charging does not cause life degradation, by solving a problem that, even in a system equipped with a standby power source, a short-period power stoppage state occurs at power failure until the standby power source is turned on, and although such the short-period power stoppage does not occur if float charging is adopted and carried out that supplies direct-current power by connecting the direct-current power source and a secondary battery in parallel to be connected to equipment as a load, the secondary battery sometimes exceeds full charging to be overcharged that causes life degradation of the secondary battery.SOLUTION: By adjusting an output voltage of a direct-current power source serving also as a charger, through detection of a current flowing in the nickel-hydrogen battery, the nickel-hydrogen battery is prevented from harmful effects of overcharging. In addition, by devising a cooling structure of the nickel-hydrogen battery, harmful effects of overcharging are restrained.
