Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermetallic compd. target which is the B2 structure target of Ni and Al essentially comprising Ni and Al and has high deflective strength, and to provide its producing method.
SOLUTION: This target consists of an intermetallic compd. sintered body which consists essentially of Ni and Al and substantially has the B2 structure. The target is preferably prepared to have ≥99% relative density and ≤200 μm average grain size, and more preferably ≤30 μm. Further, by controlling the oxygen content to 300 to 5,000 ppm, more preferably 1,000 to 4,000 ppm, an effect to produce finer grains in the thin film is expected.
