Abstract:

A nickel electrode for the alkaline storage battery is characterized in that a positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material mainly composed of nickel hydroxide, and a compound including at least one element among erbium Er, thulium Tm, ytterbium Yb, and lutetium Lu having the diffraction peak in d=0.88 nm, d=0.84 nm, and d=0.76 nm, in an X-ray diffraction diagram by a Kα line of Co.
