Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain nickel hydroxide easily giving nickel oxyhydroxide which exhibits superior discharge characteristics when used as the electrode material of a cell by oxidation treatment at a temp. close to room temp.
SOLUTION: This nickel hydroxide for the production of nickel oxyhydroxide is platy primary particles having as aspect ratio of the plane direction to the thickness direction of 3-60 and 0.01-1.0 μm particle diameter in the plane direction. The total half-width of the nickel hydroxide in X-ray diffraction is shown by (100)>0.3 deg.
