Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical treatment catheter wire which is at least partly coated with a hydrophilic coating, has a superelastic metallic core, has a substantially rectilinear and invariable distal wire section, is preferably reduced in the hardness of the wire in the distal part and is larger in the profile of the front end of the wire than the distal wire section.
SOLUTION: This medical treatment catheter wire assembly used in the tubular cavity of the medical treatment catheter has a proximal wire section, an intermediate wire section, the distal wire section which is more flexible than the intermediate wire section and is substantially rectilinear and invariable and the superelastic metallic core having the lubricative coating covering at least a part of the intermediate and distal wire sections as well as the diametrally expanded wire front end which is adjacent to the distal wire section, has the larger wire front end profile than the wire front end profile of the distal wire section and is substantially invariable.
