Abstract:
To provide a system and method for accurately supplying therapeutic gas to a patient needing it.SOLUTION: A patient receives breathing gas from a high frequency ventilator using at least an enhanced therapeutic gas (e.g., nitric oxide and NO) flow measuring device. At least some of the enhanced therapeutic gas flow measuring devices can be used to address some surprising phenomena that occur when therapeutic gas is blended into breathing gas the patient receives from a breathing circuit mounted with the high frequency ventilator with a turbulent flow. When using at least some of the enhanced therapeutic gas flow measuring devices, the dose of therapeutic gas blended into breathing gas that the patient receives with a turbulent flow can be more accurate and/or insufficient supply of therapeutic gas into the breathing gas can be avoided and/or reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
