This nitrogen-containing aromatic compound is a compound expressed by the formula Het-A-(CR2R3)nR4 [Het is a group expressed by formula I (Y1 is N or a CR1a; Y2 is N or CR2a; Y3 is N, CR3a; R1a to R3a are each H, a 1-6C alkyl or the like; R and Rf are each a 1-6C alkyl or the like) or a group expressed by formula II; A is NR1 (R1 is H, a 1-6C alkyl or the like); R2 and R3 are each H, a 1-6C alkyl or the like; R4 is a (substituted) phenyl or the like; (n) is 1-5], e.g. 4-(4'-chlorobenzyl amino)-2-methyl-6- trifluoromethylpyrimidine. The compound of the formula Het-A-(CR2R3)mR4 is obtained by reacting a compound of the formula Het-L (L is an eliminated group such as a halogen, an alkylthio, an alkylsulfone or the like) with a compound of the formula H-A-(CR2R3)nR4, at need, in the presence of a base.
