EXAMPLE: Ethyl 2-[2-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)-1-hydroxyethyl]-2,6,10-trimethylundecanoate expressed by formula IV.
USE: A medicine which is an active ingredient of ameliorants for cerebral function, having high safety and used as a drug for treating cerebral ischemia, cerebral hypoxemia, etc., in an acute or chronic period.
PREPARATION: For example, an epoxy compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a nitrogen-containing compound expressed by formula III while being heated to afford the compounds expressed by formula I (Y3 is OH).
