Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture an alloy for absorbing nitrogen oxide by incorporating specified amounts of Zr-base Laves phase intermetallic compounds into an alloy.

CONSTITUTION: By weight, ≥10% Zr-base Laves phase intermetallic compounds such as ZrV2, ZrMn2, ZrCo2, ZrCr2 and ZrFe2 are incorporated into an alloy. In its use, grain size is regulated to about 45 to about 400μ to heat the alloy to the temp. range of 250 to 900°C, by which nitrogen oxide(Nox) is absorbed from a gas of ≤1vol.% oxygen concn. for a long period of time and is removed with high efficiency.
