NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [R1 is H or lower alkyl; R2 is lower alkyl or methoxyethyl; R3 is lower alkyl; X is CH or N; Y is (lower alkyl-substituted) lower alkylene; Z is O or S].
EXAMPLE: N-(1-Ethoxycarbonylethyl)-N-(2-ethoxyethyl)-imidazole-1-carboxamide.
USE: Fungicidal and nematocidal agent for agricultural and horticultural use. It exhibits excellent controlling effect to the blight of the aboveground part of crops, especially powdery mildew, scab, gray mold, etc. by soil treatment, and has no detrimental effects such as phytotoxicity to the crops.
PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be prepared by reacting e.g. the carbamoyl halide of formula II (Hal is halogen) with imidazole or triazole in an inert solvent, preferably in the presence of a tertiary amine, preferably at 0W100°C for 10min W serveral hours.
