Abstract:
To provide a catalyst which is capable of manufacturing an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid with high selectivity and high productivity from an olefin or α,β-unsaturated aldehyde, and to provide a manufacturing method of an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid using the same.
The catalyst for manufacturing an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid from an olefin or α,β-unsaturated aldehyde is the noble metal supported catalyst having at least the noble metal supported on an inorganic oxide carrier of which the acid content is 0.12 mmol/g or less. The manufacturing method of the α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid comprises oxidizing the olefin or α,β-unsaturated aldehyde with molecular oxygen under the noble metal supported catalyst.
