Title:
NODULAR CORROSION-RESISTANT ZIRCONIUM ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02159336
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the nodular corrosion resistance of the title alloy in the environment of being brought into contact with high temp.-high pressure water or steam by adding small amounts of Ru, Rh, Pd, Pt and Au to a Zr alloy contg. specific amounts of Sn, Fe and Cr.

CONSTITUTION: The Zr alloy used in a nuclear reactor or the like is formed with, by weight, 0.20 to 1.70% Sn, 0.05 to 0.50% Fe, 0.05 to 0.30% Cr, total 0.005 to 3.00% of one or more kinds selected from Ru, Rh, Pd, Pt and Au and the balance Zr with inevitable impurities. If required, 0.01 to 0.10% Ni or furthermore 0.05 to 1.50% Nb are incorporated thereto. By the above compsn., nodular corrosion resistance satisfied under severe corrosive conditions can be obtd. Thus, corrosion resistance satisfied even in reactor primary water or the like can be shown.
