To provide a "noise canceling device" which can prevent the generation of the loud volume of noise in mute release, and which can immediately cancel the noise after the mute release.
The noise canceling device synthesizes a noise canceling signal generated by adaptive signal processing with an audio signal to input the noise canceling signal into a speaker via an amplifier, and outputs sound according to the audio signal and noise canceling sound from the speaker. In the noise canceling device, when the instruction about audio mute is performed by a mute part, a microphone detection signal is set as e=0 by performing interception so that the microphone detection signal is not input into an adaptive signal processing part. Thus, a coefficient of an adaptive filter becomes H(n+1)=H(n), is maintained at a value in mute, and the generation of the loud volume of noise in the mute release can be prevented.
