PURPOSE: To suppress a background noise component superimposed acoustically on an object signal by connecting a filter correcting the distortion of an output signal due to leakage of an object signal component to a reference signal to the post-stage in a 2-input adaptive filter noise canceller.
CONSTITUTION: A filter 105 corresponding to a transfer function h(z), an adaptive filter 104 having the same transfer function as the adaptive filter 102 inputting an output from an electroacoustic converting section are connected to form a filter. That is, an output signal (y) of a microphone 2 is inputted to an adaptive filter 4 and outputs a signal eliminating the background noise signal component superimposed on a sound signal S inputted to a microphone 1. The output is fed to an adder 3. A correction section comprising a filter 7, an adaptive filter 8 and an adder 9 is provided to the output of the adder 3. The filter 7 is a fixed filter having a transfer function corresponding to the transfer function h(z) corresponding to the acoustic path from the sound signal source to the microphone 2. Further, the adaptive filter 8 is a filter controlled by the same coefficient as the adaptive filter 4. An adder 9 adds an output of the adder 3 and an output of the adaptive filter 8. The output of the adder 9 is a final noise canceller output.
