PURPOSE: To lower a varister voltage and to improve the circuit protection effect by utilizing a sintered body obtained through the lamination of plural ceramic green sheets having a varister characteristic with an electrode inbetween and sintering of the laminated layer integrally.
CONSTITUTION: Green sheets 1-4 whose film thickness is 60μm are formed by the doctor plate method, a conductive paste including Ag and Pd is coated to the upper side of the sheets 2, 3, and through electrodes 5a-5c and a common electrode 6 are formed. Three same sheets are laminated beneath the sheet 1 and on the sheet 4, they are pressed under a prescribed pressure, baked for a prescribed time at a prescribed temperature to obtain a sintered body 7. Then Ag, Pd conductive paste is printed on the exposed part of the electrodes 5a-5c and 6 and baked for a prescribed time at a prescribed temperature. As a result, a noise filter is formed in which both ends of the electrodes 5a-5c and 6 are connected electrically to a, b of the external electrodes 8-11. Since the filter is of laminate type, the varister voltage is lowered and the circuit protection effect is enhanced.
