To provide a positive pole active material for a nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery having superior battery characteristics even in a severer environment of use.

The positive pole active material includes at least a lithium transition metal compound oxide of a lamellar structure, wherein the lithium transition metal double oxide consists of a hollow particle having an outside outer shell portion and a space portion inside the outer shell portion. A percentage of an area of the space to a total of the outer shell portion and the space portion is preferably larger than 0% but less than 20% when the lithium transition metal compound oxide is cross sectioned.
