The battery comprises a negative electrode 2, a positive electrode 3, and a non-aqueous electrolyte 4, and the negative electrode 2 contains natural graphite and styrene-butadiene rubber, and the electrode density of the above negative electrode 2 is 1.68 g/cc or more and 1.85 g/cc or less. It is desirable that the above natural graphite has an amorphous layer on the surface and the thickness of the amorphous layer is 5 μm or more and 10 μm or less. It is desirable that the above negative electrode contains carboxymethylcellulose 100 ppm or less.
