Abstract:
To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of preventing deterioration of battery performance in accordance with discharge of a nonaqueous electrolyte from a wound electrode body.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a wound electrode body 20 having an electrode wound around a winding axis. In a cross section orthogonal to the winding axis, the wound electrode body has two R parts 22a(b) having curved outside surfaces, and an F part 24 sandwiched by both R parts 22a(b), at both ends in the longitudinal direction. Assuming A is a length of a straight line V-V' connecting internal vertices V, V' on the innermost side in the two R parts 22a(b), along a straight line P-P' connecting external curved vertices P, P' of the two R parts 22a(b) separated most from the center. A thickness V-P from the internal vertex V to the external curved vertex P closer to the vertex V is D, A/(A+D) is 0.64-0.92. Here, porosity of a positive electrode active material layer composing the wound electrode body is 10-50 vol%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
