To provide a battery having high energy density and the excellent cycle characteristic by containing a specified material in at least one of a positive electrode, a negative electrode and the electrolyte.
In this battery, at least one of a positive electrode, a negative electrode and the electrolyte contains the compound expressed with a formula. In the formula, R1, R2, R3 and R4 separately means methyl group, ethyl group or hydrogen atom. All of the added variable of the compound is desirably set at the number of mole at a half or less of the quantity of lithium corresponding to the irreversible capacity of the negative electrode material. Namely, since the chemical equivalent of the compound is 2, all of the lithium can be compensated by the number of mole at a half of the quantity of lithium. Consequently, all of the compound is decomposed at the first cycle of charge, and at the time of following charging, and the work of the compound as an effective solute of the electrolyte is eliminated.
