To provide a non-aqueous secondary battery formed with a film capable of easily moving lithium ion and having a low electric resistance in a negative electrode surface to be generated in an interface between a negative electrode formed of lithium, a lithium alloy or carbon and the non-aqueous electrolyte during the charge and discharge by containing fatty acid ester of sugar or reducing sugar in the electrolyte.
In this non-aqueous secondary battery, fatty acid ester of sugar or reducing sugar is contained at 10-7-10-2 mol/liter in the electrolyte, and as the fatty acid ester of sugar or reducing sugar, the fatty acid ester of cane sugar is used. Desirably, this non-aqueous secondary battery is formed of a positive electrode, a negative electrode made of the carbon material and the electrolyte obtained by dissolving the lithium salt in the organic solvent, and the fatty acid ester of the sugar or the reducing sugar is contained in the electrolyte or the negative electrode. Since a stabilized film having a low resistance in an interface between the electrode and the electrolyte can be formed by restricting the added quantity of the fatty acid ester of the sugar or the reducing sugar low, quick charge and discharge are possible by increasing the current density.
