Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a non-asbestos friction material having high and stable friction coefficient and suppressed disagreeable squeak without deteriorating facing attacking power, and useful for automotive disk brake, drum brake, clutch facing, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective non-asbestos friction material contains a fiber component other than asbestos, a thermosetting resin component such as phenolic resin and a filler component such as graphite and barium sulfate, wherein said filler component contains rutile sand as at least a part of the component.
