PURPOSE: To improve the sepn. efficiency of an electric charge material by rectifying the flow of a liquid to be treated in migration chambers by utilizing heat convection flow.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid to be treated contg. the electric charge material is supplied through an inlet nozzle 7 to the lower part of the central migration chamber 2b, rises in the migration chamber 2b, and parts to two flows at the top end, which flows descend into the migration chambers 2a, 2c on both sides. The charge material contained in the liquid to be treated is charged by the energization of electrode plates 6a, 6b. Since the inside of the migration chambers 2a, 2b, 2c are always charged, the liquid in the migration chambers is warmed by Joule heat. Since the cooled electrode liquid is held circulated in charge chambers 4a, 4b, the heat convection flow which ascends at the center and descends on both sides is generated in the migration chambers 2aW2c. The flow which is nearly plug flow and has the smaller disturbance is, therefore, obtd.
