Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-chromate metal surface treating agent suitable for a metal, particularly metal coated steel material, containing no chromium, capable of giving workability and corrosion resistance excellent as pre-treating of coating a coating material or the like.
SOLUTION: The non-chromate metal surface treating agent is characterized by containing (a) a silane coupling agent and/or its hydrolysis condensate of 0.01-100 g/L, (b) a water dispersive silica (solid material) of 0.05-100 g/L, (c) a zirconium compound of 0.01-50 g/L as zirconium ion and/or a titanium compound of 0.01-50 g/L as titanium ion, wherein (a), (b) and (c) are essential components, (d) a compound containing a thiocarbonyl group of 0.01-100 g/L and/or (e) a water soluble acrylic resin of 0.1-100 g/L.
