To obtain the subject woven fabric for the protection of an air bag to protect the driver, etc., of a vehicle from unexpected danger caused by the collision of the vehicle by using a synthetic filament as the warp and the weft wherein the denier of the weft monofilament is set to be smaller than that of the warp monofilament.
The denier of the weft monofilament of the subject woven fabric is set to be smaller than that of the warp monofilament, preferably the weft denier is 1.5-6.0de and the warp denier is 6-12de, the denier difference between the warp and the weft is ≥2.0de and the total denier of the warp and the weft is 210-840de. A synthetic filament of e.g. a thermoplastic resin such as polyamide 66, polyamide 6, polyamide 46 or polyester is used as the warp and the weft to obtain the objective non-coated woven fabric for the production of an air bag.
