Abstract:
To solve shortage of power to a thermal recording medium during thermal recording by effectively utilizing the power of laser beam and to realize speedup of a recording speed.
Respective single mode laser beams L1 and L2 output from first and second single mode semiconductor laser arrays 1 and 2 are superimposed by a dichroic prism 12. This superimposed laser beam La and a multi-mode laser beam L2 output from a multi-mode semiconductor laser 2 are synthesized by a polarized light beam splitter 13 provided with a /4 reflecting plate 14. This synthesized laser beam Lb is main-scanned on a thermal recording medium 16 face in the same direction as the horizontal direction of the multimode laser beam L3 by a deflective scanning mechanism 17.
