Title:
NON-HEATING STERILIZING METHOD AND APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02111371
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make it possible to conduct highly reliable and effective sterilization without damage to an apparatus, by providing a process to induce electrolysis for a prescribed time using output of a direct current electric source with 2.5-3.5A per liter of electrolyte of stabilized current component and an electric voltage component with a variable voltage so as to adapt the process to conductivity and absorption of an electrolytic solution. CONSTITUTION: This non-heating sterilization device comprises a pair of electrodes 7, 8 connected to an electric current generator 3, a timer 18 capable of switching the generator 3 on and off, and a monitor and control means 9, 10, 11, 12, 19 capable of switching the timer 18 on and the generator 3 off. An acidifying agent contained in a container is added and mixed to the electrolytic solution in each sterilization cycle to correct a rise of the alkaline content, and keep pH-value to 5-7.5. In order to secure the best formation of active chlorine, electrolytic is induced by a supply DC source with 2.5-3.5A of stabilized current per liter of an electrolyte and 4-8V of a variable voltage is response to conductivity and absorption of the electrolyte. The fixed current method guarantees a constant electrolytic rate regardless of temperature of the electrolytic bath.
