Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain non-magnetic steel high in volume electric resistivity, by a method wherein a specific amount of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr, Al are contained in steel and specific relation is brought between the contents of C, Mn, Si, Cu, Si, Al and Mn.

CONSTITUTION: On the basis of wt%, less than 0.45 C, less than 7 Si, 16W40 Mn, less than 0.04 P, less than 0.015 S, 1W15 Cr and less than 10 Al are contained in steel. In addition, the relations of formulae I , II are satisfied. In this case, other than the aforementioned components, one kind or more 0.05W1V and 0.05W0.25 N or one kind or more 0.001W0.03 Mg, 0.001W0.03 Ca, 0.001W0.05 REM and 0.001W0.05 Y or one kind or more 0.5W3 Ni and Cu are contained so as to satisfy the aforementioned formulae I , II.
