PURPOSE: To produce the non-oriented silicon steel strip having reduced iron loss by subjecting a steel having specified composition consisting of C, Mn, Si, Al and Fe to cold rolling after hot rolling at a specified working ratio so as to realize a high magnetization.
CONSTITUTION: A steel slab, which has a composition consisting of, by weight, ≤0.025% C, preferably ≤0.015%, particularly 0.001≤C≤0.015%, <0.10% Mn, preferably <0.08%, 0.1≤Si≤4.4%, preferably 0.5≤Si≤4.0%, particularly 0.5≤Si≤2.0%, 0.1≤Al≤4.4%, preferably 0.3≤Al≤2.0%, further Si+2Al>1.6%, Si+A<4.5%, if necessary 0.005-0.15% Sn and/or Sb and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, is hot rolled down to 5mm. This strip is cold rolled down to a working ratio of 86% without recrystallization intermediate annealing and then is annealed. By this method, the non-oriented silicon steel strip of low iron loss, which contains a grain oriented structure or a dual grain oriented structure in a high ratio and realizes a magnetization of J2,500>1.7T, is obtained.
