Title:
NON-PROGRESSIVE CORRIDOR BI-FOCAL LENS WITH SUBSTANTIALLY TANGENT BOUNDARY OF NEAR AND DISTAL VISUAL FIELDS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2019164392
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a lens that avoids both bifocal jump and astigmatism associated with standard progressive lens designs.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a bifocal, non-progressive ophthalmic lens comprising a rotationally symmetric convex surface, and a concave surface opposite the convex surface, the concave surface including a first visual field having first optical power for distance vision and a second visual field having second optical power for near vision. The first and second visual fields are smoothly coupled in a tangential manner without a progressive corridor, and smoothly blend with the remainder of the concave surface. Respective radii of the first and second visual fields form a straight line lying between the first and second visual fields and extending on a center line of a contact surface also included in the concave surface of the lens.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
