Title:
NON-PROTEIN FORM NITROGEN-CONTAINING DESALTED WHEY AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04356159
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject whey with industrial advantage by adsorbing whey, etc., on an ion-exchange resin and subsequently selectively eluting non- protein form nitrogen using whey, etc.

CONSTITUTION: For example, whey or concentrated whey is adsorbed to ion- exchange resin (preferably strongly acidic cation exchange resin) at a low linear speed by using a column preferably having a large length of the column layer. The adsorbed non-protein form nitrogen(NPN) is then eluted with whey or concentrated whey by utilizing the difference in selective adsorption to the resin between NPN and minerals to recover NPN into the desalted whey. Thus, the objective whey can be obtained.
