Abstract:
To provide a non-woven fabric for a battery separator and a battery separator with excellent adhesion to an electrode, low battery resistance, and excellent cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: There is provided a non-woven fabric for a battery separator including ultrafine fibers having a fiber diameter of 100 to 1000 nm, and having a thickness of 20 μm or less, and a porosity of 40 to 60%. There is also provided a battery separator which uses the non-woven fabric for the battery separator. The surface roughness of the non-woven fabric for the battery separator may be 7 μm or less, the tensile strength may be 30 MPa or more in the MD direction and 15 MPa or more in the CD direction, and the dry heat shrinkage at 180°C may be 3% or less in the MD direction, and 1% or less in the CD direction, the puncture strength may be 100 g or more, and the bubble point may be 50 kPa or more. The ultrafine fiber may be made of polyester fiber or polyphenylene sulfide fiber.SELECTED DRAWING: None
