To provide a thin-type, compact, and highly reliable nonaqueous electrolyte battery with a high energy density, whose capacity design is easily made.
The nonaqueous electrolyte battery is composed of a polar plate having the first polarity consisting of a metallic sheet having an active material layer on an inner surface, wherein a flat-shaped sheathing material is formed, a polar plate having at least one of the second polarity and arranged in a position facing the active material layer, and a separator layer existing between the polar plate having the first polarity and the polar plate having the second polarity. As for this battery, because the sheathing material serves as the polar plate having one polarity, this has a high energy density.
