The nonaqueous secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte containing at least one of an imide salt represented by formula (1), and a cyclic carbonate having a halogenated cyclic carbonate represented by formulae (2), (3), and (4) and a carbon-carbon multiple bond. In the formula (1), R1 meets CmF2m+1(1m8); R2 meets CnF2n+1(1n8) and 5m+n16. In the formulae (2), (3) and (4), R3 to R20 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or an alkyl group. A compound represented by the formulae (2), (3) or (4) includes at least one halogen atom.
