To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is excellent in charge-discharge cycle characteristics, more specifically, for example, a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of suppressing the reduction in conductivity of a negative electrode due to charge-discharge cycle, and its manufacturing method.
The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode and negative electrode 10 that can reversibly store and release lithium, and a nonaqueous electrolyte having lithium conductivity. The negative electrode includes a collector 11 and active material particles 13 arranged on the surface of the collector. The active material particles include at least one kind of element R selected from among Sn, In, Ga, Pb, and Bi, in addition to Si, and metal bonds 15 including the element R are formed between the active material particles.
