Title:
NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010182477
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery optimal for an electronic vehicle (EV), hybrid electronic vehicle (HEV), or the like, superior in output characteristics and output regeneration characteristics with changes of IV resistance values restrained at low charging depth, even at charging and discharging at a large current of ≥60 A.

The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery uses as a positive electrode active material lithium transition metal complex oxide expressed in Li1+aNixCoyMnzMbO2 capable of storing and releasing lithium ion (M=at least a kind of element selected from Al, Ti, Zr, Nb, B, Mg, and Mo, 0≤a≤0.3, 0.1≤x≤1, 0≤y≤0.5, 0≤z≤0.9, 0≤b≤0.01, a+b+x+y+z=1), with an initial charging capacity per unit area of a positive electrode of ≤40 mAh/10 cm2, and with an insulating coating layer formed containing titanium oxide on a negative electrode surface.
