Abstract:
To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which uses a novel fluoride-based cathode active material and has high energy density and good reversibility.
The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a cathode using a lithium-containing compound as a main cathode active material; and an anode. The lithium-containing compound satisfies compositional formula (1): A2MXb (where A is Li, M is Ni, X is F, and b is 4). In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery described in claim 1, M in the compositional formula (1) is composed of Ni and a metal element by which the Ni is partially substituted.
