Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the cycle characteristics of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery by preventing the oxidation and deterioration of a nonaqueous electrolyte layer.
SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery composed of a positive electrode, a nonaqueous electrolyte layer, and a negative electrode capable of absorbing and releasing lithium, an antioxidant are added into an nonaqueous electrolyte layer. For an example, an electrolyte is obtained by adding 0.1 weight portion of tetrakis (methylene-3-(3, 5-di-t-butyl-4- hydroxyphenol)-propyonate) methane as the antioxidant to 100 weight portions of the nonaqueous solvent solution of LiBF4 (the nonaqueous electrolyte salt). Thereby, a battery cycle characteristic is improved.
