Title:
NONAQUEOUS RESIN DISPERSION AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04198351
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the subject dispersion excellent in dispersibility and stability and suitable as coatings, inks, etc., by reacting a glycidyl group-containing polymer resin component with a tertiary amine and dispersing polymer particles containing the resultant quaternized polymer in a solvent or a silicone oil. CONSTITUTION:(A) A monomer expressed by formula I (R<2> is H or CH3; X is CO2CnCH2n+1, etc.; n is 6-20), (B) an unsaturated monomer having glycidyl group and (C) an unsaturated monomer having carboxyl group and, as necessary, (D) a polymerizable compound CH3; n is 1-20) are polymerized in the presence of a polymerization initiator in an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent (e.g. kerosene) or a silicone oil. The obtained polymer is then reacted with a tertiary amine to produce a quaternized polymer.
