PURPOSE: To widen the surface area of a negative electrode and to increase current density by using an electrode formed by binding lithiumaluminium alloy powder to a conductive synthetic resin substrate as the negative electrode of a nonaqueous secondary battery.
CONSTITUTION: An organic electrolyte containing alkali metal ions is poured in a battery case 8 of a secondary battery. A negative electrode 9, a separator 10 made of glass fibers, and a positive electrode 11 comprising a positive mix 6 and a current collector 7 are put in the battery case 8, and they are fastened with a bolt 12 made of polypropylene. The negative electrode 9 is formed by heat-pressing lithium aluminium alloy powder against a polyethylene film 1. The film 1 is formed by mixing carbon powder with high adhesive polyethylene. The content of the alloy powder is 50% in an atomic ratio. To increase conductivity, the film 1 is pressed against a metal sheet 3, or a conductive adhesive 4 is applied to a metal net 5, then the alloy powder 2 is bonded to the net 5. Thereby, the surface area of the negative electrode 9 is widened and current density is increased.
