PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nondestructive taste properties measuring apparatus in which the taste properties of a vegetable or a fruit, e.g. the glucose concentration or the ripeness, can be measured quickly and accurately without complicating the apparatus.
SOLUTION: This nondestructive taste properties measuring apparatus for measuring the taste properties of a vegetable or a fruit M being carried on a tray 1 by irradiating the vegetable or a fruit with light comprises a pair of tray side optical path sections 14, 15 provided at the receiving part of the tray, a plurality of measuring sections 4 provided with a pair of measuring side path sections 41, 42 corresponding to the tray side optical path sections disposed oppositely to the bottom face side of the tray in a carrying path, and a carrying position regulating means 2 comprising a first side bar 21 and a second side bar 22 having a press means 7 disposed at each measuring section. The vegetable or fruit M is irradiated with light, at each measuring section, through a measuring side path section of the tray and a corresponding tray side optical path section. The light reflected on the vegetable or a fruit M is directed to a detector through another tray side optical path section and measuring side path section.
