To obtain a nonhalogen flame retardant resin composition containing no halogen, generating no harmful gas such as dioxins, having excellent electric insulation and flame retardance capable of passing both of the 60° inclined combustion test according to JIS C3005 and the vertical combustion test VW-1 according to the UL standard 1581 and forming products having excellent pliability (flexibility), and to provide a flame retardant power cord.
The nonhalogen flame retardant resin composition is obtained by compounding 100-200 pts.wt. metallic hydrate into 100 pts.wt. resin mixture comprising 5-40 pts.wt. styrene-based resin, 2-20 pts.wt. acid-modified styrene- based resin and at least one kind selected from olefin polymers, natural or synthetic rubbers and thermoplastic elastomers.
