Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent diffusion of a contaminant to the surroundings, before separating and removing the contaminant distributed in the ground.SOLUTION: A structure 1 for preventing diffusion of a contaminant includes: an annular water collection channel 3 constructed in the ground 2; and a water lift pump 4 lifting water in the annular water collection channel. The annular water collection channel 3 is positioned so as to surround a contaminated area 5 at a horizontal projection position thereof, is constructed in the ground 2 so as to be positioned above the contaminated area 5, and is obtained by horizontally arranging a strainer pipe 7 along an underdrain 6. A water collection pit 11 is formed in the ground 2 at a lateral position of the annular water collection channel 3 so that a bottom surface depth of the water collection pit is lower than that of the strainer pipe 7. The water lift pump 4 is installed at a bottom surface of the water collection pit. The underground water flowing into the strainer pipe 7 is collected to the water collection pit 11 and is lifted onto the ground by the water lift pump 4 by communicating the water collection pit 11 to an internal space of the strainer pipe 7 via a communication pipe 10.
