Abstract:
PURPOSE:To rapidly, easily and nonaggressively measure the qualitative information on the looseness and hardness of the temporo-maxillary in particular. CONSTITUTION:This system is constituted of a random signal generator 1,a low-pass filter 2 of 1kHz upper limit frequency, an electron amplifier 3, an exciter 4, a load cell 5, an impedance head 6 having a vibrator 7, a strain amplifier 8, a charge amplifier 9, a foot switch 10, an analog/digital (A/D) converter 11, and a data processing section consisting of a personal computer 12 and a printer. The mechanical mobility of the temporo-maxillary soft tissue can be obtd. from the mechanical mobility in which the characteristics of both of the periodental tissue of the mandible teeth obtd. from the rest position of the lower jaw and the temporo-maxillary soft tissue simply by measuring the mechanical mobility of only the periodental tissue of the teeth of the lower jaw in the state of not exciting the temporo-maxillary by integration of the upper and lower jaws and by subtracting this mobility from the mechanical mobility in which both of the mobilities mentioned above are included.
